Extended Learning Opportunities – West High School

An ELO is a way for a student to demonstrate mastery of academic competency, and to receive high school credit for that mastery, in some way other than attending a formal class at school. All ELO projects must be approved in advance by an administrator and the ELO Coordinator at the student’s school.

Eligibility Requirements

Student must be a West High School Student.

Students must commit to completing hours and activities that are outside of regular classroom time

Students are required to meet regularly with a cooperating teacher, community partner, and/or ELO Coordinator

Students must adhere to the four (4) ELO principles: Research, Reflection, Product, and Presentation

Being a member of the Partnership Network Work Group since it was founded and seeing the evolution of our partnerships growing has been rewarding. We are working to assure that there are equitable and accessible partnership opportunities through a consistent,clear process and expectations for all partners. This work is enabling Manchester to have sustainable, community driven programming to increase support and opportunities, while improving student outcomes. At the same time we are communicating with teachers, students, families and the community at large about our partners and resources through Compass.
