Highlights from CelebratED 2023:

CelebratED 2023 was a resounding success, bringing together the entire Manchester School District community for a day filled with joy, talent, and community spirit.

Unified Participation: For the first time, all 21 Manchester public schools actively participated in the event, showcasing thoughtfully planned and rehearsed performances that truly captured the essence of our diverse community.

Music Café Delight: The introduction of the “Music Café” provided a unique off-main stage venue for high school students, allowing them to showcase their solo performances. This addition was a huge hit and is set to return next year.

Art Gallery in The Park: A new feature, the “Art Gallery in The Park,” offered an enclosed space with a portal entrance, creating a sophisticated setting for displaying impressive student art. The exhibit spanned 200 linear feet, covering both sides with a stunning array of artwork.

Community Engagement: The event witnessed remarkable growth in community engagement, with nearly 50 organizations participating in booths and activities. Despite questionable weather, this strong showing indicates that CelebratED is becoming a must-attend annual event.

Game Changer Awards: Introducing the “Game Changer” awards, honoring 110 students, teachers, and staff from all 21 schools for their outstanding contributions that go above and beyond to make their schools great. This truly embodies the spirit of CelebratED.

Science Education Celebration: Science education took center stage with a robotics competition and a display of Manchester School of Technology’s student-built airplane.

Community Involvement: Manchester Police, Fire, and Health Departments actively participated, bringing horses, ponies, fire trucks, and a dental care van.

Culinary Delights: The event catered to diverse tastes with an expanded multi-cultured menu, featuring Greek pizza, Caribbean, Thai, and Mediterranean food. Kona Ice was also available for all kids.

Reading Enthusiasm: 895 elementary school students participated in the “We Show Up” contest, with Smyth Road School winning. Additionally, 847 students left with books, bookmarks, and a newfound enthusiasm for reading.

We look forward to creating more unforgettable moments at CelebrateEd 2024!
